Very Rare/Fine/Old Korean Bronze Official 4/5 Horse Warrant: Korea, Joseon dynasty. Dated between 1400-1800. Of circular form, During the Joseon, officials of the central government, when traveling through regional areas on public duty, were allowed to use saddle horses kept at government-run post stations upon presenting a special warrant such as this one. The bearer of the warrant was entitled to use the number of horses carved on the badge. It’s in very fine condition with a very old aged natural dark brown patina over the surface, it measures 11.5 cm overall x 9.8 cm x 1.2 cm thick.

This is an official horse warrant for four and five saddle horse, used for the use of official horses during the Korean Joseon Dynasty. There were warrants for one horse to five horses.
